If you weren’t able to join us in class this week you may not have heard we added a family member to our home. Let me catch you up!

Since Adelia was born and joined me to make our little unit I have had 3 private adoptions fail. The gals who go through private adoption are the type who is working the system; she is likely using drugs and often do not always see the opportunity to profit from her pregnancy, and unfortunately, in each of these cases, they took the baby back or withdrew from the agreement prior to birth.

The law firm that handled all of my private adoption needs through the 2 pandemic years asked me 3 separate times if they could place another child with me. But I had hesitation because I had gone through losses especially with our little fella 3 years back, so although I was a yes to more children it seemed it would be another path I would take to help out.

I did the foster to adopt licensing in less than 3 months, working Fridays and Saturdays on classes and certifications from very early morning to midafternoon. We also did some home renovations to meet the licensing standards. Last Monday I received a text my silence had gone through and Early Wednesday morning I received a call to let me know our baby is waiting.

The circumstances are as we had prayed for.

  1. That I could help alleviate a child from the drug crisis. His BM (birth mom) is from a border town and is an addict.
  2. A BM who has had other children removed and adopted out. This means no family will step up and claim him, and there is a strong path toward adoption.
  3. Even at 8 weeks early he only used oxygen a couple of days after birth and was breathing well very soon after birth. Strong healthy lungs and heart!
  4. He went off the feeding tube 2 days ago and is now feeding on demand every 3 hours about. Gaining weight as they like to see
  5. No health complications just tiny which he should be as now he is 35 weeks, 40 weeks is a normal pregnancy.

I can talk about the altruistic reasons why I am so determined to do this now, but if you have been following me for a while, you already know my heart on this, and nothing more need to be said.

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.

Before you were born, I set you apart

Jeremiah 1:5

Since he is in the foster system till adoption occurs, I am not allowed to post pics of him or give specifics about the BM, location name images, etc., so let me tell you, he is absolutely gorgeous and wonderful, sweet-natured and completely adorable!
