How to Use Webinar Jam for Live Trainings
Computer Requirements:
- Webinar Jam Studio recommends attendees use a connection with a minimum bandwidth requirement, which is 2 mbps upload and 5 mbps download. Please perform a quick bandwidth test at www.speedtest.net.
- Clear your cache/cookies, log out of all Google properties, restart your machine and run your webinar from a fresh Chrome browser. To clear cache/cookies for PC computers: ctrl + shift + delete, for Mac computers: command +shift + delete.
- Close out of all apps, programs, windows, tabs, music or anything that isn’t necessary to your webinar to free up as many of your computer’s resources as possible.
These actions free up everyone’s machine’s resources and allows for the webinar to use the bandwidth instead of other programs running in the background.
You may also change the sleep function setting on your computer and be vigilant about not letting it sleep or shut off unexpectedly in the middle of the webinar, or especially during the break to not be dropped from the webinar.
PC:
- Type “Power Options” into the start search box
- Press enter
- Select Change Plan settings next to the preferred plan that is selected
- Set ‘Put the computer to sleep – Never.’
MAC:
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Energy Saver.
- Drag the slider that controls the computer’s sleep to Never, or select “Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off” if the checkbox is available.
- When the Mac finishes the task, change the settings in Energy Saver preferences so that your Mac goes to sleep when it’s not in use.
