They sit on top of you and dominate your mind. But the true experience of joy, love, and happiness comes directly from God. Those are not part of the emotion system.

There is an emotion system that is real, and it’s usually harmful. It behaves like a miasm. It’s subtle, it inserts itself everywhere, and it creates emotional influence that doesn’t belong to you. It controls your inner state, and can override logic and appropriate response.
