I thought about the personal aspects of God the Father – how He would walk in the Garden of Eden each day and check in on His creation, Adam and Eve. How intimate and present He was at the beginning of humankind. This week, as I studied Scripture, I looked at the grandeur of God.

Oh Lord God, You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and power because You have created all things – and by Your will they exist and were created.

Omnipotent
This term describes God’s unlimited power or authority. It means God can do anything He wills, and nothing is beyond His capabilities.
This word comforts me, because I know God is in charge. He holds all the power – and by His will, by His intent – nothing is beyond His ability.

Omniscient
This attribute refers to God’s total knowledge. It means God knows everything that is, was, and will be – and there is no secret or hidden thing from His sight.
This too gives me a sense of peace and calm. In a world where I find it difficult to understand sometimes how it got to be this way – God saw it all, and He knows everything and allows our free will. I intend always to lean on Him for direction – for He can see what I only glimpse.

Omnipresent
This term describes God’s presence everywhere at all times. It means that God is not limited by time or space – and is present in every location and moment.
Everywhere, at all times – God. Present with me when I am in a pickle, when I am reaching beyond my capability, and when I need Him to ‘make me lie down by still waters, restore my soul, make me rest.’ He’s there for it all – and I love knowing that.

We’ve been given some difficult tasks to accomplish in our academy work – and I am grateful God is doing the journey with us, guiding our every move.
