When Job was 70, an evil interference, the Devil, who was a fallen guardian angel, changed to an evil appearance speaks to God implying there are no faithful among the sons of man. And God sites Job, who was also known as Jobab, as completely faithful and true, his heart and soul are Gods. The Devil is allowed to take away his material possessions, and through that Job remains true. So the Devil once again challenges God saying take away his health and he will deny you. God allows this, with the condition he must not die. The Devil is not successful and after what some scholars believe 8-9 month period of absolute disaster in Jobs life, Job never denies God, and God puts an end to the evil works of the Devil.
Job goes on to regain his health, wealth and a whole new family. He lives 170 additional years passing away at 240, seeing 4 generations rise up. Many of the stories in the Bible are of the Children of Israel, but this devoted man is from the line of Esau.
At the age of 70 he begins a new with family, 7 sons and 3 daughters. Although nothing is really mentioned of the sons, they are 7 having the inheritance due a male, the daughters are described.
12 And the Lord blessed the latter end of Job, more than the beginning: and his cattle were fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, a thousand she-asses of the pastures.
13 And there were born to him seven sons and three daughters.
Regarding the daughters:
14 And he called the first Day,
and the second Casia,
and the third Amalthaea’s horn.
15 And there were not found in comparison with the daughters of Job,
fairer women than they in all the world:
and their father gave them an inheritance among their brethren.
16 And Job lived after his affliction a hundred and seventy years: and all the years he lived were Alex. 248 two hundred and forty: and Job saw his sons and his sons’ sons, the fourth generation. 17 And Job died, an old man and full of days: and it is written that he will rise again with those whom the Lord raises up.
The first daughter was named Day, looking at the Biblical implication of this name we find Spiritual Symbolism: It often represents divine presence, enlightenment, and spiritual awareness, contrasting with the “darkness” of sin. Day also relates to Creation: In Genesis, God defines day as the light separated from darkness, establishing a rhythm of creation.
The Second daughter was named Casia referring to the inner bark of a fragrant tree related to cinnamon. This spice held significant religious value as a key ingredient in the holy anointing oil.
The third daughter Amalthaea’s horn Identity: The name is applied to Job’s third daughter, signifying music or a timbrel (drum). Symbolism: It represents a holy angel or a celestial voice that speaks in the language of the Cherubim to praise the Ruler of cosmic powers.
From these given names, names of joy, sacredness and holiness Job honored the girls with the gift of inheritance given only to males, so in this way being made equal in status to their brothers. This would have blessed them with a kind of freedom to choose how life would role out, who they would marry and the ability to provide, married or not.
We cannot forget the divine quality they were given of extraordinary beauty!
And there were not found in comparison with the daughters of Job,
fairer women than they in all the world:
No one on the earth could be found who were more divinely fair and beautiful. And we have to imagine these were beautiful in another worldly way. God have gifted these 3 girls to Job as a joy for his heart and a visual reminder of the deep love God had for his faithful, loyal and true servant.
