As you read Scripture and have a passage speak to you, you can personalize it and use it to energize your intentions for overcoming a situation.
Here is an example from 2 Chronicles 15:
And the Lord prospered the kingdom in his hand, and all Juda gave gifts to Josaphat, and he had great wealth and glory, and his heart was exalted in the way of the Lord, and he removed the high places and groves from Juda.
The prequel to this was that Josaphat loved the Lord and walked in His ways, honoring the covenants and commandments of the Lord. If we want to energize this verse for ourselves, that is part of how it came about.
Personalizing
And the Lord prospered Julie Renee’s home, family, and Academy in His hand.
And all God’s Community gave gifts to Julie.
And she (Julie Renee) had great wealth and glory.
And her heart was exalted in the way of the Lord.
And she removed the sources of evil, demons, devils, witches, sorcerers, and all evil from God’s creation.
This caught my eye as I read it, and I knew it was, for me, a passage that would strengthen me.
Here is another verse that spoke to my heart:
Fear not, neither be alarmed
before this great multitude,
for the battle is not yours but God’s.
This reminded me the battle and the opponent before me are there for a purpose, and this is actually not my battle but one the Lord will fight. I, His willing servant with a restored heart, will do the work, and He will fight the battle. Outcomes are for a purpose.
Trust in the Lord, and ye shall prosper. Give thanks to the Lord. His mercy endures forever.
When we are fighting a battle and feel called to stay in the fight, we may start to feel alone and like the weight of the battle is too heavy. Realizing it is not my battle, the weight is lifted. Knowing that, in the battle, we are not alone. God is there.
