Have pets been introduced to the culture in such a way as to replace the value of human life, especially where it relates to children? I’ll let you decide.

I went to an event with little Henry a few weeks back. He was an adorable 5-pound cutie patootie in a front-pack sling version, easily seen and enjoyed. At this event, the neighbors brought their dogs and kids.

As I spoke with them there were 2 ladies who were interested in him and wanted to hold him, but he was too small for that so the interest after some time went off Henry, where the attention went was to the young dogs who were less than a year old. The names were human names and their owners/parents were bragging about their cuteness and accomplishments. At first, I actually thought they were talking about their human children, but quickly I saw and heard the great pride in the dogs.

As we sat over dinner chatting about life  I heard the fellow next to me say yes that’s why we only had one child. They are way too ‘inconvenient’.

Did I hear right? Dogs brought happiness and pride, kids were more troublesome than not,  a pain in the XO@!

When people speak of adoption 9 times out of 10 are talking about pets.  We attended 2 thanksgiving dinners. Both seemed way more excited about the dogs than the kids.

Finally my final notion in this conversation: our pastor said he and his wife considered fostering to adoption but with the pandemic said we lost interest. When I spoke about plans for newborns, he said oh no I value my sleep way too much.

There is an enchantment on dogs replacing human children, this is true,  and is part of both the depopulation agenda and the one of breaking the family bonds and values.
