Before David got all cool, spiritual, and famous as King David we know and love, he was a kid. He was overlooked as the scrawny, youngest of a big brood of older talented brothers. He was often the one out tending the sheep, doing the grunt work for his family. David likely was doing the chores his big brothers just were not into and could pass off to him.

Some might say he went through a time of humbling, of suppression, a time of being almost invisible in his family and in the world. But David was always destined for greatness, it was in his nature. God had made him strong. With God’s Loving attention the Father also made him wise.

As a boy, he simply knew God must win the battle over Goliath. There was nothing else for him, God wins. Who delivered the blow, well if no one else would stand against the giant then he felt his young faith directing him, it must be me, I must do this thing.

He had a certainty that God wins, which was a driving force for him to claim this battle at such a young age. We all know the story, it is told and remembered so often. He was laughed at. The King gave him his armor, way too big and heavy for David to wear.  Picking up a couple of stones and carrying his trusty slingshot David whipped the stone in the air and landed it smack dab on the center of Goliath’s head and down the giant came. Thud. It was over, and at least for a time, God’s people were to experience freedom.

A child with great faith, knowing both purity and truth, walking with God saved his nation from slavery.

Although none of us are children, I do think we are moving back to that kind of pure faith, pure knowing, and alignment with God. God wins.

There are nations to save, prisoners being held captive and through our faith, prayer and activations we are doing the way David felt so called to do and be. We are taking action to free Gods people from the giant tyrants who have taken positions of leadership and must be brought down, not with a slingshot or violence, but with the firm resolve that God wins and the willingness to listen to God’s direction as we enter into our 3rd year or the 10-year commission.
