Thank you to those who have sent birthday greetings to Adelia, as we celebrate the day of her birth and on that same day the day I held her in my arms and she became my daughter.
I love her with all my heart and have learned so much on this journey of mothering a child with her special issues.
One thing I have learned is that she is enough. She does not need to be a different size, shape, or color, she does not need to change her voice or her areas of brilliance. She is extraordinary just as she is.
She has asked for 3 birthday parties. She had her big splash pad party 2 weeks ago. she gets presents from mommy Saturday (yesterday when you read this. A little girlfriend from the devilment is coming to eat pizza popcorn and cupcakes and watch Elsa in the evening and then Monday she’ll bring cupcakes she bakes to school to celebrate with her best friends.
She made a sweet little video after her pool party saying, My Mommy is CELEBRATING ME!!! Yes. We all need to be celebrated and we need to feel cherished, valued, and loved!
